Who writes the briefings

Every briefing on this site carries a byline, and every byline leads to a real profile page.

Right now our articles are published under one name: Alex Mercer. It’s a disclosed editorial pen name used by the DepartmentOfInternetSecurity.net content team. We use one consistent byline so readers know what voice and standards to expect, and we say plainly that it’s a pen name rather than dressing it up as something else.

What doesn’t change behind the name: sources are linked, incidents are separated from speculation, and advice stays defensive. If a piece needs a specialist’s review, such as a legal or medical angle, we say so in the article instead of pretending the writer covers it.
